The school's name changed as its management and student body changed, as follows: The Manassas Industrial School (also known as the Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth), 1893-1937; Manassas Regional High School, 1937-1959; Jennie Dean High and Elementary School, 1959-1966; Jennie Dean Junior High School, 1966-1977; Jennie Dean Middle School, 1977-1991; and Jennie Dean Elementary School 1991- current.
