The Advanced Search button can help you be more specific with your search by allowing you to select what category your search criteria is located in.

You can search for words or phrases within a particular search category or in multiple searches categories to further narrow down your search results, e.g. “Parks” in People will find members of the Parks family and not records about recreational parks.

• To find records where a phrase exists place it in quotation marks, e.g. “Parker-Gray Football team”
• You can use an asterisk as a wildcard in your search request, e.g. America* will find records with America and American.
• To find records where multiple words exist use AND between your words, e.g. Graduation AND Parker-Gray.

The catalog buttons can also help narrow down your search, by only searching within a selected catalog: Objects, Photos, Creators, and People.

You can also browse all records within a selected catalog by unchecking the other catalogs and clicking the search button without entering any other search data.
