Land deed between Clem Robinson and Anthony S. Perpener (as the only surviving Trustees of "The First Free School Society of Alexandria"), and Washington N. Jackson, Freeman H. M. Murray, Robert W. Bentley, James W. Lumpkins, James M. Buckner, Shadrack Jackson, John Scroggins, Zachariah Tate, Richards Brooks, James Ross, Gustavus A. Lumpkins, Emanuel J. Webster, and Edwards H. Hill, Jr., and the School Board of the City of Alexandria, for two parcels of lands in Alexandria, dated July 3, 1899. Included in the deed is the August 3, 1867 transfer of the lands from Henry F. Davis and his wife to George Seaton and others as "The First Free School Society of Alexandria." The first tract of land is on Alfred Street on the block between Princess and Oronoco Streets. The second tract is between St. Asaph and Pitt Streets near Gibbon Street. |
