Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "Black Women in America: An Historical Encyclopedia". The poster consists of sixteen black and white photographic images, ten of individual African American women and six of groups of women. In the center of the poster is a list and brief biography of the women and groups shown. Behind this text is an image of Josephine Baker. The poster was produced by Carlson Publishing, Inc. The poster is affixed to the board with red tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back of the board is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
