Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with two title cards, six information cards from a set, and two posters. The title cards consist of the black text, "Southwest" and "Far West" on a purple and yellow background respectively. The six information cards consist of a color drawing with a caption in black text. They illustrate daily life and cultural objects of Native America tribes from the southwest and far west regions, including a Navajo sand painting and a Pomo basket. The posters are entitled, "Native American Leaders" and "Native American Culture" and consist of black and white photographic images with captions in black text on a striped and decorated background in white, orange, and blue on the right and white, blue and green on the left. The set of cards were produced by Frank Schaffer Publications, Inc. and the posters were produced by Hayes School Publishing Co., Inc. The front of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
