Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board entitled, "20th Century American Women" and mounted with six posters of American women. The title is in red text on a green background and under this title is a poster with color photographic images of Billie Jean King, Barbara Jordan and Maria Tallchief, and there is a triangle with the text, "WOMEN'S HISTORY / MONTH / MARCH 1-31". The remaining five posters consist of a color photographic image with text below on a green or white background. The woman's name is in black or blue text, and a brief biography is in black text. These posters are for Lady Bird Johnson, Sally Ride, Edith Head, Nancy Reagan, and Althea Gibson. The posters are part of a series entitled, "20th Century American Women" produced by The Instructor Publications, Inc. The front of the board is covered in red, black, white and blue card. The posters are affixed with metal studs. The board is edged in silver and wood design tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
