Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "Native Americans Past and Present". The poster consists of thirteen color drawings depicting Native Americans, with their names, life-dates, and a brief biography below each. The drawings are of Pocahontas, Pontiac, Sequoya, Black Hawk, Sacajawea, Ely Samuel Parker, Chief Joseph, Sarah Winnemucca, Susan LaFlesche, Jim Thorpe, Rollie L. Riggs, Iron Eyes Cody, and Maria Tallchief. The title is in black text within a dreamcatcher at the top of the poster. The poster has an abstract border in yellow, green and red. The poster was produced by Creative Teaching Press. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
