Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a poster and two bookmarks. The poster consists of a color photographic image of Barack Obama and the White House and the white text, "44th U.S. PRESIDENT / BARACK / OBAMA". Below this is the red, white and blue text, "BELIEVE / ACHIEVE / SUCCEED". Below the poster are two bookmarks. The bookmark on the left consists of a color photographic image of Barack Obama and the text, "44th U.S. / PRESIDENT / BARACK / OBAMA / "Let us unite in / a common / effort to chart a / new course / for America." / BELIEVE / ACHIEVE / SUCCEED". The bookmark on the right consists of the text, "MILESTONES / IN THE LIFE OF / PRESIDENT / BARACK OBAMA..." It continues to list events in Obama's life from his birth in 1961 to his election as president in 2008. Between these bookmarks are two round stickers for "BARACK OBAMA 44TH U.S. PRESIDENT". The board has a blue background. The poster is affixed to the board with blue tape and the board is edged with blue tape. The front of the board is covered in plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
