Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster with the blue text on a red background, "SEQUOYA" at the top and "CHEROKEE" at the bottom. In the center of the poster is a red and white drawing of Sequoya with a brief biography in blue ink to the right of the image. Below the image in white text is a brief history of the Cherokee tribe, specifically the Cherokee language that was created by Sequoya. At the top of the poster is a logo with the text, "AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL / 1776-1976". The poster was produced by the Silver Cloud Indian Council on Education, Inc. The board is edged with black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
