Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a poster advertising, "Confederate Currency: The Color of Money", an exhibition of paintings based on the images of enslaved people used on Confederate paper money by artist John W. Jones. The central image of the poster shows two enslaved men working in a cotton field. Below this is an image of a one dollar bill from the State of Georgia that depicts the same scene. The poster is bordered by the tops of bank notes showing the state's or bank's names. The poster is signed by John W. Jones and dated October 9, 2003. The poster is attached to the board with green tape. The board is edged in black tape. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
