Rectangular paper poster which consists of a color photographic image of a young girl in a red kimono holding a red paper parasol on the obverse. On the reverse of the poster is printed text and two drawings. The text is entitled, "Discovery Posters: Japan" and consists of information about the country in a section entitled, "Fascinating Facts", and a series of classroom activities, including a drawing of a map of Japan to label, suggested discussion and story topics, and a list of Japanese words, with phonetic pronunciation and English translation with a drawing of a goblin and a child eating noodles. The poster has a sticker affixed that reads, "HAMMETT'S $1.99" The poster was produced by Trend Enterprises Inc. This poster was used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
