Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "Famous Black Americans". The poster title is in red lettering at the top of the poster and is flanked with ribbons of the United States of America flag that extend down the sides of the poster. In the center of the poster are 64 photographic images of African Americans. Below this is a listing of the name and role of each person. They include musical artists, sports people, civil rights activists, and political figures. The poster is affixed to the board with black tape. The front and back of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and the front is covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
