Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with eight magazine pages relating to Obama's presidential acceptance speech and the Democratic National Convention at Invesco Field, Denver, August 28th 2008. The pages largely consist of photographic images of people reacting to the election result, and celebrating and performing at the DNC. At the top left of the board is the text, "THE MOMENT "It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this / day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America, / - U.S. PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA". The front of the board is covered in plastic which is taped at the back of the board. On the back of the board is the black text, ".2". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
