Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with two documents about Althea Gibson. The main document is a black and white copy of a photographic image of Gibson holding the Wimbledon trophy she won in 1957. The text is a brief description of her winning match. The second document is mounted on the bottom left corner of the first. It consists of a black and white photographic image of Gibson, and a brief biography. The smaller document is affixed to the larger document with green tape and the board is edged in green tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
