Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster that consists of a color drawing of Mary McLeod Bethune in the top left corner, a quote from her in red ink in the top right corner that begins, "I leave you FAITH, I leave you RACIAL DIGNITY…", below which is a drawing of two young African American children resting their heads and arms on a black background on which is white text that begins, "TEACH US THE WAY OF UNITY / IN FAMILY, RACE, AND NATION…" The poster is affixed to the board with red tape and there is red tape at the corners of the board. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
