Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with three typed documents and fourteen leaflets. Two of the documents consist of a spider diagram explaining Carlton Funn's Cultural Awareness Reality Education Seminars or "CARES" program, which focuses on self-improvement, health, and combating substance abuse. The documents are on yellow and orange paper. The central document is typed on white paper and is a letter explaining the introduction of the "CARES" program at Hine Junior High School, dated September 27, 1995. It lists Carlton A. Funn Sr. as the "CARES" instructor. The informational leaflets also address drug and substance abuse, self-esteem, teen behavior, positive family dynamics, and decision making. Only the front cover of the leaflet is visible and some of the leaflets are partially obscured by others. The documents and leaflets are stapled to the board. One leaflet was stapled and is now loose behind the plastic. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
