Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a card entitled, "Black History". The card is an oval shape with an orange background and consists of three sepia toned photographic images of Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, and Dr. Carter G. Woodson. In the center of the board is a red oval with the black text explaining Woodson's choice of February for Black History Month, as the other two men were born in February. The board is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
