Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster from the "Great Queens of Africa" series, created by Anheuser-Busch. The poster consists of two color drawings by African American artists, one of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt and one of Nzingha, Amazon Queen of Matamba, West Africa by Dorothy Carter. The drawings consists of the queen and a contextual drawing. To the side of each drawing is the title and a brief biography of the queen. The poster has a brown background and the title is black text. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back of the board is covered in wood design contact paper. Handwritten on the back of the board in black ink is "1985". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
