Cardboard display board on which are taped two copies of a flyer advertising the "Celebrating Our Cultural Diversity" exhibit held at George Washington University, January 9 - February 2, 1996. On the right side of the display board the flyer reads: "Exhibit Viewing Guide a. Cultural Diversity b. People of the World c. African Heritage/Artifacts d. A World of Mathematics, Science, and Technology e. Save the Children f. Rev./Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. g. African-American Heritage h. Native-American Heritage i. Hispanic-American Heritage j. Asian-American Heritage" The flyer on the left side of the board gives a brief biography of Carlton Funn. In the center of the board are two copies of a postcard advertising the event. One side of the postcard reads: "Diversity: 1. promotes racial progress 2. helps to change attitudes 3. is an asset 4. creates positive ideas 5. seeks solutions 6. encourages self-esteem 7. brings out the best in all of us 8. is strength in unity" To the right of this is mounted a copy of Carlton Funn's business card. The rectangular display board is covered in wood patterned contact paper onto which the flyer, postcard and business card are adhered. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
