Upside down "T" shaped foamcore display board with a color photograph of William D. Euille, a letter on cream paper with a City of Alexandria letterhead, a copy of a poem about Euille written by Trayce Funn and topped by a photograph of each of the Alexandria City Council Members. The letter detailed Euille's appointment as Mayor in 2003 and his re-election in 2006 and gives a brief biography. The poem, which is entitled, "The Man - The Moment - The Mayor" was presented during the ASPBH Recognition Reception. The photograph of the Alexandria City Council Members includes images of Mayor William D. Euille, Vice Mayor Redella S. "Del" Pepper, and Councilmen Ludwig P. Gaines, Rob Krupicka, Timothy B. Lovain, Paul C. Smedberg and Justin M. Wilson. Euille was the first African American Mayor in Alexandria, VA. The photograph of the City Council Members is affixed to a section of black foamcore. This section is edged in white tape and attached by a hinge of tape to the lower section of the board which is white foamcore. The photograph of Euille is mounted on a separate section of foamcore affixed onto the board. The other documents are affixed with green tape. The front of the lower section of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back of the board is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
