Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with 17 pieces of paper with black and image images and text for 27 U. S. Postal Service stamps featuring African Americans. The board also includes one piece of paper with a black and white image of William Edward Burghardt Du Bois with a brief biography underneath. They include a 1940 stamp for Booker T. Washington and a 2004 stamp for choreographer Alvin Alley. The poster is affixed to the board with red, blue and green tape and the board is edged in red tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. The board is marked on the reverse "Fine Arts / & / Music / 3". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
