Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with six pages from a book entitled, "I Dream A World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America". The pages consist of black and white photographic images of African American women and brief biographies including their place and date of birth. The women are: Lena Horne, Clara McBride Hale, Ruby Middleton Forsythe, Leontyne Price, Winson and Dovie Hudson, and Katherine Dunham. The portraits are by Brian Lanker. The pages are affixed to the board with black tape and the board is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back of the board is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
