Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "The Real McCoy and Friends". The title is in red at the top of the poster. The poster has nine color drawings of African American inventors with their inventions on a black background. Each drawing has a caption in red and white text that lists the inventors name, life dates, a brief biography and the name, date and patent number of their invention. The inventors' depicted are Elijah McCoy, Lewis T. Latimer, Jan Ernest Matzeliger, Joseph Lee, Frederick M. Jones, Garrett A. Morgan, Andrew J. Beard, Granville T. Woods, and Nobert Rillieux. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
