Color photograph of people entering a church by Carol Siegel, 1985-1986. The photograph shows members of a church dressed in red and white robes lined up outside of a church. A man dressed in a white robe standing at the top of the entrance steps is holding an incense burner. The church has been identified as St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Alexandria, VA. The photograph is housed in a silver-colored metal frame with a glass front and a hanging wire attached at the back. This photograph was taken by Siegel as part of a project, grant-funded by the Alexandria Commission on the Arts, to document the Parker-Gray Historic District's Black community, 1985-1986. |
