Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with sixteen black and white copies of pages from a book entitled, "A Salute to Black Scientists and Inventors". The documents contain a line drawing and brief biography of seven African American scientists and inventors. They are Lloyd Augustus Hall, Frederick McKinley Jones, Percy L Julian, Ernest Everett Just, Lewis Howard Latimer, Joseph Lee, and Jan Earnst Matzeliger. The documents are affixed to the board with green tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. Handwritten on the back of the board in black ink is, "#2". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
