Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a Black History Calendar for 2006 poster entitled "From the Steel Mill to the Baseball Diamond: The Negro League's Homestead Grays" produced by the DC Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board. The calendar months are shown along the bottom right corner of the poster. There are four black and white photographic images of players from the Homestead Grays in action on the baseball field. The text on the left of the poster details the Grays history from 1900-1950, including their move to Washington D.C. The poster is affixed to the board with green tape and the board is edged with green tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped on the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
