Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a section of foamcore which is mounted with a poster entitled, "DOD Celebrates Asian/Pacific-American Heritage Month". The poster consists of a central drawing of a man in military uniform holding a gun running on a beach with a ship in the water behind him. At the top of the poster are four drawings of men and women in uniform, including medical staff. Around the central image are smaller images of warfare and five captions that describe events in World War Two either in Asian or the Pacific Islands or involving Asian Americans or Pacific Islanders. The poster was produced by the Department of Defense. The front of the lower board is covered in wood design contact paper. The front of the entire board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
