Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with five newspaper cuttings relating to President Barack Obama's inauguration. On the right of the board is the front page from "The Washington Afro-American", dated January 24-30, 2009. The article is entitled, "Mr. President" and includes a color photographic image of Barack Obama taking the oath of office. In the center of the board are three black and white photographic images. The top image shows Obama walking in a busy marketplace, the middle image shows Obama painting at the homeless shelter, and the bottom image shows a crowd celebrating Obama's election. On the left of the board is a newspaper page entitled, "The Inauguration of Barack Obama" and consists of thirteen color photographic images of the 2009 inauguration of President Obama. The pages are affixed to the board with blue tape and the board is edged with blue tape. The front of the board is covered in plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
