Description |
Eight-day clock movement marked on the white enamel clock face with the maker's name, The New Haven Clock Co., and mounted in a wooden banjo style wall case, undated. The case has two sections of painted glass inserted within the wooden frame. The first section is a decorative motif in gold and blue. The lower section is a painting of Mount Vernon. This is mounted in the door to an empty storage compartment. There is a metal eagle finial on the case (detached). There are holes at the side of the throat section of the case that indicate it may have had decoration affixed to the sides. The pendulum box at the base of the case is not internally connected to the throat section, which has no door, and could not have held a pendulum. |
