Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "I Remember Harlem, 1940-1960". The poster has a white background and brown and black text. In the center of the poster are ten black and white and sepia toned photographic images. The images depict entertainers Paul Robeson, Hazel Scott and Lena Horne, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, The Mary Bruce "Starbuds", and the Ren's basketball team, Mayor Fiorella LaGuardia and Bill Robinson at the "Tree of Hope" site, scenes of nightlife, and children at a PAL jamboree street stand. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
