Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with an advertisement for a book and film entitled, "Going for the Gold" about seventeen African American women athletes. The book also has advice for young female athletes. The advertisement includes a black and white photographic image of a young African American girl standing outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, holding the book and thinking of two athletes shown in smaller images. There is a logo for Carnation in the bottom right corner of the document. The board is edged in green tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
