Trifold rectangular cardboard display board mounted with photographs and printed biographical documents for five men and women working in President Jimmy Carter's administration. They are Associate Director of Domestic Policy Staff Annie M. Gutierrez, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Tourism Fabian Chavez, Jr., Assistant Administrator for Latin America of the Agency for International Development Abelardo L. Valdez, Administrator of the U. S. Labor Department's Wage and Hour Division Xavier Vela, and Director of the Office of the Spanish Speaking Program of the U.S. Civil Service Commission Carlos F. Esparza. The photographs are in black and white, with the exception of the photograph of Chavez which is in color. Several of the documents are press releases about the individual's appointment or other honors. The photographs and documents are covered in clear plastic. The front and back of the board are covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
