Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster with the black text title "A Legacy of Excellence: / The Mission of / Howard University Hospital". The background is cream and the remaining text gives a brief history of the hospital, including that it was originally called "Freedman's Hospital" and that it was established in 1863 by the Federal Government who maintained and operated it until 1967 when it officially became part of Howard University. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This poster is part of a series on Howard University Hospital. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
