Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with three posters of American women. The first poster consists of color photographic images of tennis player Chris Evert, astronaut Sally Ride, and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Above the poster is a triangle with the text, "WOMEN'S HISTORY / MONTH / MARCH 1-31". Below the poster is the title, "20th Century American Women" in black text on a pink background. The remaining two posters consist of a color photographic image with the woman's name and a brief biography below. The posters are for politician Elizabeth Dole, and anthropologist Margaret Mead. The posters are part of a series entitled, "20th Century American Women" produced by The Instructor Publications, Inc. The posters are affixed to the board with metal studs. The front of the board is covered in white, blue and black card and is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back of the board. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
