Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with ten postcards from the United States Postal Service's Black Heritage series. The postcards are mounted in three rows on the board and consist of a color image of the stamp and a brief biography of the person depicted. The postcards are for Matthew Henson, Frederick Douglass, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Salem Poor, Jim Beckwourth, Henry O. Tanner, Sojourner Truth, James Weldon Johnson, Dr. George Washington Carver and Jean Baptiste Pointe Du Sable. The board is edged in brown tape and is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
