Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "Diabetes". The letters "DIABETES" are in multiple different colors on a black background. There is white text around the word that names people "who could get it" with each name using one of the letters in the word diabetes. At the bottom of the poster is the white text, "One out of ten Americans will get it. Eleven million Americans have it. That's why we've spent $325 million in our search for a way to end it". The poster was produced by the American Diabetes Association. The board is edged with red tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. Handwritten on the back of the board is the number, "XVIII". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
