Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with two posters from the "Roots" television series. The poster on the left of the board is a color photographic image of Alex Haley holding an open book, and on the right the poster is a color photographic image of John Amos as the character Kunte Kinte holding a baby playing his character's daughter Kizzy. The title text, "ALEX HALEY / ROOTS" and "FIRST BORN" are in black vinyl lettering on white card attached to the posters. Between the two posters is the black vinyl lettering, "1." The posters are affixed to the board with black tape. The board is edged in black tape. The front and back of the board are covered in wood design contact paper and the front is also covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
