Description |
Cardboard display board on which are attached two copies of the "Black History Month Observance" program. The copies are mounted to show the front and back of the folded program. The event was held at the Nassif Building on February 13, 1991 and was sponsored by the Federal Highways Administration, Office of Civil Rights. The program lists Carlton Funn as the speaker and an exhibit of Funn's collection, "The History and Culture of Minorities: The African-American Exhibit", and gives a short biography and photograph of Carlton Funn. Also listed in the program is an exhibit by the Black Colleges and Universities and the lyrics to the song, "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing". The front cover of the program has an illustration of a male and female student in academic caps and gowns, holding diplomas. The rectangular display board is covered in wood patterned contact paper onto which the program is adhered. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
