Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted on both sides. One side is mounted with eighteen typed and printed documents relating to women's history, especially women's equality, women's rights, and working women, including in the Federal Government. Several of the document include photographic images of women. The other side of the board has a green background and is mounted with eight printed documents that consist of a black and white photographic image of a women, with the woman's name and a bullet-pointed list of biographical information. The documents are for Sojourner Truth, Phillis Wheatley, Ethel Waters, Edmonis Lewis, Althea Gibson, Mary McLeod Bethune, and Marian Anderson. The last document in the bottom right is obscured and the name is not visible. Some of the documents are affixed to the board with metal staples. The board is edged in black tape. Both sides of the board are covered in clear plastic. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
