Description |
Trifold rectangular cardboard display board with brightly colored panels in blue, yellow, pink, orange and green mounted with ten posters and the title "Puerto Rican Heritage". The title is in plastic lettering affixed to a section of cardboard mounted to the top left corner of the first panel of the board. The posters are from a set numbered 1-10 and are mounted two per panel on five panels of the board. The posters consist of black and white photographic images and drawings and captions in Spanish and English. The poster titles are: "1 DESCUBRIMIENTO Y COLONIZACION / DISCOVERY AND COLONIZATION", "2 LOS CRIOLLOS THE CREOLES", "3 HOMBRES Y GESTAS / GREAT MEN AND THEIR DEEDS", "4 LA GUERRA HISPANOAMERICANA / THE SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR", "5 PUERTO Y LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS / RICO AND THE UNITED STATES", "6 ESCRITORES Y POETAS / WRITERS AND POETS", "7 ARTE Y MUSICA / ART AND MUSIC", "8 DESARROLLO POLITICO SOCIAL / POLITICAL AND SOCIAL / DEVELOPMENT", "9 LA MUJER PUERTORRIQUENA / PUERTO RICAN WOMEN", and "10 MONUMENTOS MONUMENTS". The posters were produced by Federico Ribes Tovar and Plus Ultra Educational Publishers, Inc. The posters are affixed to the board with black tape and the panels of the board are edged in black tape. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
