Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster produced by Pitman Publishing Company, 1968. The poster consists of seven black and white photographic images in two rows on a green background with the title, "Twentieth Century Writers" along the top edge in white text. Each image has a brief explanatory caption below it. The images are of Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Kelly Miller, Carter Woodson, James Weldon Johnson, W. E. B. Du Bois, Countee Cullen and Richard Wright. The poster is affixed to a black board which is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. The board is marked on the reverse "18". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
