Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "Great Queens of Africa". The poster is part of a series created by Anheuser-Busch. The poster consists of two color drawings by African American artists, one of Queen Amina, a woman as capable as a man and Queen Tiye, Nubian Queen of Egypt by L. Jenkins. The drawings consist of the queen and a contextual drawing. To the side of each drawing is the title and a brief biography of the queen. The poster has an orange and white patterned background and the title is black text. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. Handwritten on the back of the board is the text, "Internatio". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
