Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "African-American Inventors". The poster consists of color drawings of six African American inventors with their name, life dates, and a description of their work under each drawing. They are Benjamin Banneker, Jan Ernst Matzeliger, Daniel Hale Williams, Madam C. J. Walker, Garrett A. Morgan, and Frederick McKinley Jones. On the left of the board is a brief biography of Benjamin Banneker with a green background. There is a diamond shaped design below the text and the same design is in green behind the color drawings. The board is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic. Handwritten on the back of the board in green ink is "8". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
