Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster entitled, "American Pride... American People". The poster consists of ten black and white drawings of men and women with a caption in black text on a brightly colored rectangle below each image. The drawings are of Johnnetta B. Cole, Michael Chang, Mary Lou Retton, Oscar de la Renta, Pablita Velarde, Colin L. Powell, Connie Chung, Steven Bochco, Antonia C. Novello, and N. Scott Momaday. The background of the poster is the United States of America flag. At the bottom of the poster is the title in red text on a white rectangle and three logos for American Airlines who sponsored the poster. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
