Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with three posters entitled, "Horacio Rivero", "20th Century Hispanic Americans", and "Lee Trevino". The posters for Rivero and Trevino consist of a color photographic image with their names, and a biography in black text on a cream colored rectangle at the bottom of the poster. The poster in the center of the board is the front of the cover for a set of posters entitled, "20th Century Hispanic Americans" and consists of the title in yellow text on a brown background with color photographic images of Jim Plunkett, Cesar Chavez, and Rita Moreno. There is a metal pin badge affixed to the central poster. The badge is circular with a white background and the red text, "NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH / SEPT. 15 - OCT. 15, 1990" and "We're hot!" with a drawing of two red chili peppers in the center. The posters are part of a series entitled, "20th Century Hispanic Americans" produced by The Instructor Publications, Inc. Two of the posters are affixed to card with metal studs. The card and central poster are affixed to the board with red tape. The front of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
