Rectangular cardboard display board constructed from an enlarged copy of a newspaper article from the Alexandria Gazette Packet, February 11, 1991, entitled, "Virginia Honors Alexandria Educator". The article includes an image of Carlton Funn. It describes how Virginia's General Assembly honored Funn for his contributions as an educator and details his work, especially at Hine Junior High in DC, and includes quotes from former pupil, Chris Adcock, Funn, and former Hine principal Princess D. Whitfield. The paper is mounted on cardboard with red and black tape. The front of the board is covered in plastic and the back is covered in contact paper with a wood design. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
