Description |
Rectangular foamcore display board mounted with a black and white document entitled, "From the Minds of Black Inventors" which consists of eight patent drawings: Norman Rillieux's sugar refining vacuum pan, Granville T. Wood's railway telegraph, Frederick M. Jones' air conditioning unit, Lewis H. Latimer's electric lamp, A. J. Beard's railroad car coupler, Elijah McCoy's automatic lubricator, Garrett Morgan's traffic signal, and Jan Matzeliger's lasting machine. The document is affixed to the board with green tape and there is black and red tape at the corners of the board. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic which is taped at the back. This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
