Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with six documents from a calendar entitled, "Ethnic Cultures of America". The documents each consist of blue and white photographic images of groups of people celebrating their heritage. Each image has a caption in red text and each document has a caption in red. The document captions are: "From the Far East came: Chinese, Japanese, / Filipinos, Vietnamese, Asian Indians, Koreans", "From the British Isles came: English, Scots, Welsh, / Scotch-Irish, Irish", "From the Middle East came: Jews, Iranians, / Palestineans [sic], Lebanese, Syrians, Turks, Armenians", "From South America came: Ecuadorians, / Peruvians, Colombians, Brazilians", "From Eastern Europe came: Russians, / Ukranians [sic], Poles, Estonians, Jews, / Romanians", and "From Scandinavia came: Swedes, / Norwegians, Danes, Finns". The documents are affixed to the board with black tape. The front of the board is covered in wood design contact paper and clear plastic. Handwritten in black ink on the back of the board is, "2 - A". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
