Rectangular paper poster entitled, "Charlie Christian, The Man Who Electrified Jazz, The Black Presence in Music" and consists of a color drawing of Charlie Christian, by Charles Lilly with a brief biography below. The drawing depicts two images of Christian playing a guitar. The image at the right of the poster shows Christian with other members of Benny Goodman's band. At the bottom of the poster is the text, "NUMBER 5 IN A SERIES FROM PEPSI-COLA" below the Pepsi-Cola logo. Handwritten on the back of the poster is the text, "BRENT / 91". This poster was used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
