Description |
Rectangular cardboard display board mounted with a poster produced by Pitman Publishing Company, 1968. The poster consists of five photographic images and two drawings on a yellow background with the title, "Inventors / and Scientists" along the top edge in white text. Each image has a brief explanatory caption below it. The two drawings are of Benjamin Banneker and Granville T. Woods. The five photographic images are of Jan Matzeliger, Lewis H. Latimer, Sr, Daniel Hale Williams, Dr. Charles R. Drew and Dr. George Washington Carver with five students in a laboratory. The poster is affixed to a black board which is edged in black tape. The front of the board is covered in clear plastic and the back is covered in wood design contact paper. The board is marked on the reverse "13". This display board was created and used by Carlton A. Funn Sr. as part of his exhibition, "The History and Culture of Minorities", later named "National / International Cultural Exhibits ("NICE"). |
